Folkestone Athletes picked up 5 medals at the Kents schools championships.
There was Gold for Tommy Owler u17 boys 400m 50.88, 2 seconds ahead of the 2nd placed runner, in the u17 girls discus, Ellie Burke won Gold, with a huge lifetime best of 24.89m. Silver was won by Emily Evans in u15 girls 200m in 27.89 breaking our club record in the process and sister Olivia ran a strong 300m to come in 3rd place in 47.59, a new pb.
Noah Paterson won Silver in u15 boys 1500m coming second in 4.26.06 to a very strong Kent runner and Bronze was won Jack Doubtfire u17 long jump 5.22m, with more chance to use a long jump pit this could well have been a higher placed medal.
There were also some very exciting first and second places for the younger athletes in their age group heats.
Emma Clayton stormed down the home straight to win her u15 girls 1500m heat in 5.11.96 a new club record and sister Jenny u15 girls was just pipped into 2nd in her 800m heat in 2.35.28 another new club record.
